It only feels like 2 minutes ago we were here writing about the iPhone 14… Now Apple are lining up their latest update to the iPhone with 4 new models as usual: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Plus and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. So the question is, what’s new on the iPhone 15?
USB-C (finally!)
Yes, you read It correctly, Apple has finally given in and made the switch to a USB-C port for the iPhone 15. Life is about to get a lot easier for those of you with iPads, Macs or other Android devices, currently having to remember 2 different chargers everywhere you go. Haven’t already got a USB-C cable? Don’t worry, you’ll get one with your new iPhone 15.
Configure your own Action Button
The brand-new action button feature might arguably be the most exciting new feature that Apple have brought us this year. On the left side of the new iPhone, where the mute switch has been on previous designs, a brand new ‘Action Button’ is introduced. The action button gives you the freedom to decide what you actually want it to do. Although it can still be used as a mute and unmute button, it can also do a whole lot more when held down.
Here are some of the uses for the Action Button:
- Silent mode
- Focus
- Camera
- Flashlight
- Voice memo
- Translate
- Magnifier
- Shortcut
- Accessibility

Sleek new design
This year, Apple have given the iPhone 15 slightly softer edges, rather than the sharper corners we’ve seen on the previous models. This should make the phone a bit more comfortable in your hand when using it.
The biggest change to the design on the new iPhones has to be the brand-new titanium frame on the Pro models. The titanium frame on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max has one of the highest strength to weight ratios of any metal, making this iPhone the lightest ever!
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models will feature in a range of new pastel-like colours including blue, pink, yellow, green, and black.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is available in natural titanium, blue titanium, white titanium, and black titanium.
Dynamic Island for everyone!
If you bought a iPhone 14 last year and was disappointed to miss out on the new Dynamic Island on the Pro models, don’t worry, the feature is now included on all of the new models. The Dynamic Island is a dynamic, pill shaped cutout at the top of the screen, replacing the notch from the previous models, starting on the iPhone X. High spec camera
Do you fancy yourself as a bit of a photographer? Are you someone who loves to capture those breathtaking moments on your phone wherever you are? Well, you’re in luck. The iPhone 15 has seen some major upgrades to the camera on all the models. The cameras on the base models (iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus) have had a serious boost from 12 megapixels, to 48. The iPhone 15 Pro has a standard 3x zoom lens on it, however the iPhone 15 Pro Max has been given a brand-new addition from Apple, having a 5x zoom lens with a 120mm focal length!
