It’s that time of year again! Students are coming to the end of their college and university years, and it’s time to begin considering what path you want to take for the next chapter in your career. An apprenticeship can provide that perfect next step in your career.

What is an Apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a form of education where you get your qualifications for your chosen subject, whilst being in a full time job at the same time. Apprenticeships offer different levels of qualification for your specific choice of career path, whilst you’re on the job earning money and gaining that valuable experience.

Why choose WestSpring?

Great opportunities

Here at WestSpring, we are always on the lookout to hire apprentices and give them an opportunity to develop their career a lot faster than some other companies might. A few of our current employees were past apprentices here and have developed into higher roles in a short space of time. For example, one of our employees started with us as an apprentice only 2 years ago, and is already Workshop Delivery Manager, passing his knowledge onto the other apprentices in the workshop. Another example is our first ever WestSpring apprentice, who is now our Head of Procurement.

Fun office environment

WestSpring is the perfect place to work for an apprentice. There’s always fun stuff going on around the office whether it’s breakfast on Tuesday mornings, lunch on Friday lunchtimes, a game of giant Jenga or a nerf gun war across the office. There’s also plenty of activities to get involved in outside the office as well, such as Wednesday night 5 a side football, or our regular socials that we hold every month, including activities such as Ninja Warrior, Royal Ascot, Spa Days and Thorpe Park.

Training and development

We place great importance on training and developing our team including our apprentices. Unique development plans are created for every individual with the opportunity to enhance their skills in areas they wish.

Who do you work with for apprenticeships?

We’ve talked about the practical side of an apprenticeship but what about the learning? We work with Professional Apprenticeships to make sure our apprentices get the best support and the best education available. Professional Apprenticeships have provided our apprentices with their learning for years and have never failed to disappoint. They pride themselves on the high-quality service they provide to their young apprentices, including regular catchups with tutors to see how they’re getting on in their role, monthly training sessions on different topics in your subject and support available for you whenever you need it.
