You can’t scroll through Linkedin without a mention of ChatGPT at the moment. The AI Chatbot that launched last year has helped people work smarter not harder. Now it’s Microsoft’s turn, this month Microsoft 365 Copilot was announced and coined as “enterprise-ready AI”.

About ChatGPT

“ChatGPT is an AI Chatbot developed by Open AI. The chatbot has a language-based model that the developer fine-tunes for human interaction in a conversational manner.”1

Chat GPT provides information and responses to enquiries using textbooks, websites and various articles.

What can you do with ChatGPT?

  • Draft an email – “Write an email to a client asking to pay their invoice. Make it polite and to the point”
  • Translate text in multiple languages – “Translate I love my job in as many languages as you know”
  • Explain something simply or differently – “Explain what the Cloud is like I’m 5 years old”
  • Write a blog – “Write a blog about why your business needs a Hosted Voice solution”
  • Generate jokes – “Write a joke about IT”

What is Microsoft 365 Copilot

According to Microsoft, “Copilot is more than OpenAI’s ChatGPT embedded into Microsoft 365. It’s a sophisticated processing and orchestration engine working behind the scenes to combine the power of LLMs, including GPT-4, with the Microsoft 365 apps and your business data in the Microsoft Graph — now accessible to everyone through natural language.”2

Copilot is embedded in all the Microsoft 365 Apps – Word, Excel, Powerpoint and more and enables you to work more productively and creatively with your data. When producing content, the hardest part can be getting the first draft. Copilot can provide the first draft of a PowerPoint Presentation, Blog, Proposal and more and can pull relevant information from documents you created months ago.
