We’ve come to the end of the first quarter of 2024, and what a quarter it’s been! From cooking classes to gardening, 5-a-side football to interactive darts, to two very different trips to Ashton Gate, we’ve certainly started the year with a bang and that’s only half of it!

Socials

At WestSpring the team have a well packed social calendar with events happening every month that the whole team are invited to. Q1 we enjoyed Bristol Bears v Bath Rugby at Ashton Gate, an Escape Room at Locked in a Room and a Tapas Cooking Class at Little Kitchen. When it comes to fun outside work we never forget about our clients, our first client social of the year was interactive darts at Par59, as well as plenty of food and drink (thank goodness for the Good Friday Bank Holiday). Thanks to all of our clients who attended and made it a great night!

Charity

The start of Q1 saw us introduce our new Charity of the Year Alive Activities! Alive is one of the leading practitioners in the UK of meaningful activity for older people in care. Not only do they provide meaningful engagement in care homes, but they also provide community activity and support through their meeting centres and community gardening.

A team of WestSpringers have already volunteered a morning to help out at Alive’s allotments – and they were definitely put to work! This is just the start though, we’ve kicked off an in-house ping pong tournament and some of the team have signed up to Tough Mudder later in the year all in support of Alive. Check out how much we’ve raised and give a donation here!

Bristol Life Awards 2024

On top of this, we were also shortlisted as finalists for the 2024 Bristol Life Awards, which we attended at Ashton Gate. Although we didn’t bring home the award, it was still a massive achievement to be shortlisted and besides, we still had a great evening, and what better excuse for us to get all glammed up for a night!

Company News

In between all this fun it’s also been a great quarter for the business. We’ve added two new members to the team, Eithan an IT Apprentice and Lewis a Technical Consultant. We’ve continued to grow our client base with clients from a range of new industries including Insurance, Recruitment and Aerospace. With the threat of cyberattacks only increasing, we continue to recommend a number of security solutions including Phished and SaaS Protection that can provide an additional layer of protection for businesses. Phished is a Security Awareness Training platform like no other, using AI to simulate phishing emails personalised to the employee on the receiving end. SaaS Protection provides additional backup and recovery solutions for your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace services.

It’s been an all-round great quarter here at WestSpring inside and outside the office, and we’re excited to see what the rest of the year brings! Keep an eye on our LinkedInInstagramX and Facebook to stay updated and get in touch if you’re looking for an IT partner with a difference.
