Security flaws have been found in popular dating apps such as Tinder, Bumble and OkCupid. Users are at risk of sharing their exact location as well as other sensitive information.

Set your mobile to ask for permission before accessing your location and be cautious when sharing other personal information

Spotify phishing scams

What’s the threat?

Spotify users have reported a number of phishing emails pretending to be from Spotify, usually in relation to payment and billing. These emails contain links to fake payment pages designed to steal your banking information.

How to stay safe

Always check the sender is 100% the same as the claimed sender and the domain is correct. If you’re still unsure reach out to Spotify directly to query.

WhatsApp data leak

What’s the threat?

Millions of WhatsApp users’ personal data has been discovered on the dark web including; phone numbers, profile pictures and usernames, putting users at risk of falling victim to cyber-attacks.

How to stay safe

• Set your account visibility to ‘contacts only’ or ‘nobody’
• Set your default message timer to automatically delete messages after a certain period
• Turn off live location
